ABRIL - APRIL

Third Grade  -   Third graders finished:
  •  the numbers 1-100. 
  • The weather & seasons. 
  • The months of year.  They should be able to ask others; when is their birthday.          
  •    
  • Our new lesson is on expressing how they feel. 
         What's the matter?  ... Que tienes?  We will review the following phrases:
          I am hungry (tengo hambre), I am sleepy (tengo sueno), I am thirsty,
          (tengo sed), I am cold, I am warm, I am scare, I am nice, and other
          feeling words.  
 
Fourth Grade  -  We finish the weather & season.  The months of the year.  Action words.
 
New lesson 7:  What's the matter? 
  • What's the matter ... Que tienes?  (review from last year).
  • They will talk about how they are feeling. 
  • Saying what they have and how they are.   Tienes  ... Tengo....
  •  Learn to tell our age and ask about the age of others. 
  • We will learn when to use (tu) and when to use (usted) when addressing an adult..
  • Discuss some ways Spanish-speaking families celebrate birthdays.
 
Fifth Grade  -     Lesson 9:  Talking about foods eaten for breakfast.  Also asking and telling what   they want to drink. 
 
 Lesson 10:  Asking and telling what someone wants for lunch and dinner.
  • They will continue to study and learn about breakfast, lunch and dinner vocabulary. 
  • What do you want for breakfast, lunch and dinner?  
  • What do you want to drink?  Talking about what they want to eat. 
  •  They will also cover things you can and cannot do, and special likes and dislikes. 
  •  They will learn some of the foods in Spanish-speaking vocabulary.
 
Sixth Grade   -   They completed the lesson on things commonly found in hotels. 
                            Review daily routine.  
 
 Lesson 8  -  The Bank and Restaurant: 
  • They will be learning the title of people working in the banks and restaurants. 
  • Asking and answering questions related to banking. 
  •  Asking and answering questions related to restaurants. 
  • Talking about giving. 
  • This unit is on money and service transactions in Spanish-speaking countries.  A money reports on their assigned country.  Due April 9.                  
   Lesson 9  -  La ciudad - The City:                   
  •  In this unit they will learn names of more places in the community.
  • They will talk about where  people and places are. 
  •  They will also describe how people are feeling (happy, sad, nervous and angry).
  •  The verb (Estar) will be use to tell where people are in the community.
