                                   MAY AND JUNE 2014

THIRD GRADE:        
The students enjoyed learning the alphabets and many new vocabulary in Spanish during this year.
 
During  May and June they will review and work on the following:
1.  The seasons and the weather. 
2.  The months of the year and telling their birthday, as well as their age.
3.   Asking and telling about physical well-being.
4.   Talking about time.  What time is it? 
5.   Sports and fun in the summer..

Basically, most of the lessons introduced this year were from the text book "Hola", which is the book they will be using in 4th grade.  

FOURTH GRADE:     
The students will be  completing the textbook, "Hola" by the end of May.    They will be working at completing the following:

1.  Unit 9 .. Favorite classes        Unit 10.. The family.
2. The 50/50 project (50 questions and 50 answers).   Due end of May.  This project will prepare  them for their last test.
3. They will make their pinatas.  Pinatas are very popular in 4th grade.  The pinatas can be made with a partner or individually.  The Pinatas are due on the day of their Fiesta in June. 

FIFTH GRADE:         
 We are completing the textbook, "Que tal".  The children worked very hard this year and will be ready for Spanish 6th.   In May and June they will be completing the following:

  1.  Daily routines in the morning and evening 
 2.  How to use regular verbs.
 3.  Review telling the time. 
 4. Learning the names of people who work in schools. 

All fifth graders will receive a test review packet for their last 5th grade test in June.   They will have a Fiesta.   Date will be announced.

SIXTH GRADE:        
 The children worked very hard in sixth grade.  We are completing the book, "Adelante".    They are finishing Unit 11 (naming people, places, and things related to shopping).  Unit 12  (naming beach and water sports, describe beach activities and talk about past actions).

This year they learned about Spanish-speaking countries, the cities/town,  asking for directions around the city, going to a bank and restaurant, names of different places around the city, buying gifts, different occupations, money in Hispanic countries, and many important verbs.  Our final will be in June .   Our Fiesta date will be announced.
