EL INVIERNO.... WINTER  ---  ENERO (JANUARY) - FEBRUARY (FEBRERO) 2013

Third grade      -   The students will continue to learn the vowels and the alphabets. 

                               They are reviewing colors and numbers. 

                               They will be learning the days of the week, the seasons and weather.  

Fourth grade    -     The students finished learning the days of the week, places in their         

                                 neighborhood, and asking "Where are you going?". 

                                They will continue to learn vocabulary describing the school and our town.         

 

                                Also, they are learning to ask where they are going, and when they are going.
                                They will soon cover the seasons and weather. 
                                Please encourage your child to copy all vocabulary in their notebooks, make
                                flash cards, and study the words.

Fifth grade            The students finished learning the outside and inside of the house 

                               vocabulary, including the rooms and the furniture. 

                               They are learning  nouns and important verbs relating to this subject.  

                                The new lesson is on things in their kitchen.  In this unit they will learn verbs 

                                associate with this subject.  Soon they will learn household work.  

                               

                                I am encouraging the children to practice at home by labeling the things around 

                               the house. Please make sure they write their vocabulary words down and study.  

Sixth grade            The students have  finished learning about the town and city vocabulary.  

                                They learned more on the Spanish-Speaking Countries and the

                                 nationalities of these countries.
                                 The next they will work on going on a trip vocabulary (airline, schedules, early
                                  late, arrivals, pilots and more).

                                 The students are continuing to study on three very important verbs. 

                                 To be (ser  and estar) and to go (ir).  

                                 Also, they are reviewing the AR, ER, and IR verbs.
