Bienvenidos a la clase de la Senora Ramos

Welcome to our fun and wonderful Spanish classes. I will be teaching third to sixth grade. Como estan? All students will be taught and encouraged to greet and use courtesy words in Spanish . Short conversations in Spanish using the 7 key questions will be done weekly with the new units.

My main goal is to teach the language, the culture from Spanish-speaking countries, and for the children to enjoy learning Spanish. It's very interesting to learn and compare how much we all have in common. The children are also encouraged to practice new words at home and in their community.

We will have many projects throughout the school year about the different celebrations in Spanish-speaking countries:

Hispanic Heritage Month  - Oct. 5th  -  We will celebrate Hispanic Heritage in our school.
Day of the Dead
Country Reports (Each child in 6th grade will be assigned a country for the year).
La Navidad (Christmas)

Third graders will be practicing greeting dialogues with classmate and learning expressions of courtesy.  Soon they will be learning the alphabets and spelling their names in Spanish.

Fourth graders are very excited because they have a book "Hola".  We will be practicing greetings and expressions of courtesy.  We will continue to work on one to one dialogues in class.  Unit I will review and cover classroom objects.

Fifth graders are reviewing many of the vocabulary words introduced in fourth grade.  We will also continue to review greetings and expressions of courtesy.  Unit I will cover body parts...is a fun unit.

Sixth graders will be working on their Hispanic Heritage Celebration (Country Reports), we will also review methods of courtesy and greetings in class.  Each students needs to know how to properly introduced themselves to others as well as to response to a greeting in Spanish.  Their first unit will be on Sports and Hobbies.
