EL INVIERNO.... WINTER  ---  ENERO (JANUARY) - FEBRUARY (FEBRERO) 2015 
THIRD GRADE      -   The students will continue to work on the vowels and the alphabets.  
  • They will be reviewing colors (colores), people, family, things around the house,  and numbers (numeros)... 1-50 
  • They will be learning the days of the week, months, and the seasons/weather during January and February. 

 FOURTH GRADE    -   

Unit 3 - Reviewing and learning the days of the week.
  • Places in their neighborhood (store, school, movies, park and many other places.
  • Some of the question they will learn in Spanish: 
    • 1) Where are you going?.
    • 2) What are you going to do?  
    • This is a fun and challenging unit.  
                  
Unit 4 -  They will continue to learn vocabulary on their school and the town.     
  • What are you going to do in class? Learn the names of the classes they go to, and school activities.  
  • Also, they will continue to practice asking ; where they are going, and when they are going.
                    
 Unit 5 -  Seasons and weather:

In this unit they will learn the months of the year.
  • The season and weather.
  • Telling when is their birthday.
  •  Learn to express what they like to do and don't like to do.
 Please encourage your child to copy all vocabulary in their notebooks, make flash cards, and study the words.

FIFTH GRADE   -  

 The students finished learning the outside and inside of the house vocabulary.
                   
UNIT 5  -  En la Sala  -  In the Living room.   -  En el Dormitorio - In the Bedroom.
  • In this unit they will learn to ask and answer questions about their living room and bedroom furniture. 
  • They will describe people, places and things.
  • Also, they will describe where something are located...
  • Learn the verb (gustar) to like.       
  •  Identify the masculine/feminine article. They will be learning nouns and important  verbs relating to their bedroom and living room. 
                   
 UNIT 6   In the kitchen  -  En la Cocina  
  •  Talking about things found in the kitchen, and things done in the kitchen. 
  •  Students will describe their kitchen and what they use in the kitchen.
  •  Ar, Er, and Ir will be introduced to fifth graders in this unit.  
  •  Our next lesson will cover household chores.
 I am encouraging the children to practice at home by labeling the things around the house. Please make sure they write their vocabulary words and study weekly.
 
SIXTH GRADE  -  

The students have finished learning about the town and city, the family and how Christmas is celebrated in Spanish-Speaking countries. Sixth grade Mid-term: January 14th...The following will be covered:  Units 1-3  -  The verb to go (Ir) -  The Family  

UNIT 4  -  Talking about traveling and Spanish-Speaking countries / Nationalities.
  • They will learn more on the Spanish-Speaking Countries and nationalities. 
  • This unit identifies and name modes of long-distance transportation.
  • It will name and identify countries where Spanish is spoken.

 UNIT 5  -  Talking about taking a trip. 
  • Discussing travel destinations. 
  •  Arranging a trip and how much it cost.
  • In this unit numbers and telling the time will be recycled. 
  • Also the months/seasons, forms of transportation, places in city, and weather will be review.
                                   
    The students are also continuing to study  three very important irregular verbs: 
  • To be (ser  and estar) and to go (ir).  
  •  Also, they are reviewing the regular AR, ER, and IR verbs.
